We now have Co-op Certificates that can be used at their gas bar and at the store. The UCW would like to remind you that boxes have been provided in the narthex for the donation/collection of used stamps, used eye glasses, and pop can tabs. We no longer collect used cards. We appreciate your support. Volunteer drivers are needed to drive people in the congregation to and from church. Sign up sheet is on the table in the narthex or call and leave your name and phone number with the church office 857-4817. If you are looking for a drive to and from church please let us know. Embracing Emergence Christianity: Phyllis Tickle and the Church’s Next Rummage Sale – 6 Session Study with guide. Author, historian and keen cultural observer Phyllis Tickle invites us to join her in examining the face of Christianity and culture. There are 6 sessions On the DVD. Each session begins with a video presentation, lasting 10-15 minutes, followed by filmed interaction with a small group. The Participant Workbook then helps “join the dialogue” in our own setting. The next sessions are: The 20th Century and Emergence, Gifts from Other Tiems, How Then Shall We Live? Hallmarks of Emergence. This program is every Monday evening until June 11 here at Mountain View. Please call the office at 857-4817 to register. CONGREGATIONAL SUMMER COFFEE & CONVERSATION Just as a reminder, Summer Sundays Coffee & Conversation are being hosted by the Congregation, divided up by birth decade. There will be a Session member in the kitchen to assist each group with locating supplies and operating equipment. Your decade needs you! Please bring (a) a snack to share and (b) yourself to the kitchen before service to set up (around 9:45am) and after service to clean up. Each decade hosts only once all summer. June 3 - those born between 2000 - 2010 (the Sunday School). The children will be preparing the snacks & refreshments. (NOTE TO THEIR PARENTS - you do not need to supply anything) June 17 - born between 1950 - 1959; June 24 is the Community Dinner. July 1 - born between 1930 - 1939; July 15 - born between 1960 - 1969; July 22 - born between 1940 - 1949; July 29 is the Community Dinner August 12 - born between 1970 - 1979; August 19 - born between 1980 - 1989; August 26 is the Community Dinner. Joyland has all new curriculum for the 2012/2013 school year and we invite you to a special preview night on May 27th from 6:30-7:30pm. This evening is for parents, Joyland leaders and helpers, prospective leaders and helpers, and anybody interested in learning more about what we’re doing in Joyland. It is entitled “Dominion Street” and is at the Beaverbrook Art Gallery until June 10th. Camp Ta-Wa-Si has received a $6000.00 donation with a challenge-if another such donation is made a further $1000.00 will be given. Are you up for a week at Camp Ta-Wa-Si as a CIT (counsellor in training)? You will receive leadership training as well as helping the camp and its campers.
